On Saturday, May 7th police officers from the Fairfax County Police Department’s Mason Station set up a DWI checkpoint. The Checkpoint took place on Columbia Pike near the Intersection of Blair Road. The checkpoint was manned by ten auxiliary officers and eight police officers. Those officers worked for a total of three hours between 11:30pm and 2:30am. During that time every motorist was stopped, 604 stops in total. Only two arrests were made for DWI.
